Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has felicitated the family of the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, as they give out their first daughter, Dr Ozioma, in marriage to her Ozubulu heartthrob, Dr Chukwudi Nmuoto.

 

 

Governor Soludo, who congratulated the new couple on their status, expressed optimism that the union will be an example to many, and will stand the test of time.

The Governor used the opportunity to call on the Igbos to give their children full Igbo names without English names as a way of sustaining and promoting their rich culture, tradition and identity, and disclosed that his six children have only Igbo names without English names attached.

On his part, the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, thanked God for the life and new status of his niece, wishing her and the husband well, even as he advised them to be each other’s confidant and always keep to their marital vows.

 

In their separate interviews, the parents of the bride, Most Reverend Alexander and Martha Ibezim, assured the daughter and the husband of God’s presence in their marriage, and encouraged them to support and cherish each other at all times.

Earlier in a sermon, the Dean, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Blessing Enyinda, explained that marriage is good if couples will learn to follow the golden rules, which are that wives should be submissive to their husbands as onto the Lord, and the husbands love their wives unconditionally.

 

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Chief Victor Umeh, former Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Governorship candidate in the last Anambra governorship election, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, a stakeholder in Nibo community, Sir Chukwuemeka Orjiakor, the Vicar of Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Enugwu-Ukwu, Reverend Canon Uchenna Umeifekwem, while wishing the new couple well, told them to always remember that both of them agreed to go into the marital journey, and as such will go a long way in keeping together forever.

The white wedding held at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka, was officiated by the Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, after which reception was held at Emmaus House, also in Awka, both of which attracted Bishops in their numbers, top government functionaries, traditional rulers and captains of industry from across Nigeria.
