Senator I.G Abana foundation has offered a two-day free medical mission in Enugwu-Ukwu community and scholarship award to over fifty students.

During the program which is an annual event beneficiaries also went home with five kilogram bag of rice each.

The event which attracted over four hundred indigens of Enugwu-Ukwu and the neighboring communities featured diagnosis and treatment of several diseases including diabetes, malaria, eye problems among other, while over fifty students received scholarships for free education both in secondary school and higher institutions.

In his opening remark, the chairman on the occasion Professor Onyii Oguno who is also the Dean faculty of Law Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University while commending the benefactor called on the beneficiaries to remain good ambassadors of the town, the state and Nigeria at large adding that the future of the nation rest on the shoulders of the younger generation.

Earlier while breaking the kolanut, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu community Igwe Ralph Ekpeh who prayed for the progress of the foundation called on other well meaning ndi Anambra to emulate the good work to help foster development in the state.

Describing the benefactor as a true philanthropist, the member representing Njikoka One Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Dr Timothy Ifedioramma, the President General of Enugwu-Ukwu Development Union, Comrade Bonny Ozonkwuaku and the Traditional Prime Minister of the Town, Chief Dennis Aniekwe noted that foundation has touched many lives in a positive way praying for God’s blessings on the benefactor.

In a remark, the facilitator of the Foundation Senator Ikechukwu Abana while expressing satisfaction seeing the people smile, noted that his intentions has no political undertone but an act of kindness having been blessed by God with wealth and sound health over time.

He assured that the Foundation will continue to survive even after him as his children will uphold his good legacies for the progress of Enugwu-Ukwu community.

Appreciating the benefactor, some of the beneficiaries including Chioma Chukwuemeka of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and Paschal Amandianeze of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede assured of making judicious use of the opportunity given to them and prayed God to bless the benefactor.
