The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, says it is dangerous to leave development of both the church and society to a single individual.

Addressing the congregation of Saint Thomas Anglican Parish in Umuchu Anglican community, Right Reverend Ezeofor warned against relying on one person for the development of the church, emphasizing that evangelism should be viewed as a collective effort where all members contribute to the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth.

He regretted that many parents do prevent their children from participating actively in church activities, and called on such people to have a rethink.

Right Reverend Ezeofor; who described Synod as the highest decision-making body of any diocese, charged the people of Umuchu to spread the good news about the forthcoming synod to be hosted by the community.

He charged Christians to continue to pray for God’s intervention in the myriads of challenges facing the country, and used the opportunity to task federal government on positive reforms that will reset the nation’s economy.

Right Reverend Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC, Nigeria, commended the people of Umuchu for their support to God’s work, calling for its sustenance.

The Archdeacon of Umuchu Archdeaconry, Venerable Chijioke Nwankwo, thanked the Bishop and the Diocesan Synod Central Committee for the visit, and expressed optimism that with fervent prayers and public support, the synod will be successful.

On his part, Sir Emmanuel Okpalaoka, who is the Chairman of the Synod Central Planning Committee, said the present hyperinflation in the country calls for concern, and harped on the need for collective efforts in restoring the lost glory of the naira.

Among those present were the President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, the Clerical Synod Secretary of Aguata Diocese, Venerable Decency Chine, and the Director of Media and Communications in Aguata Diocese, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor.
