The Palace of the traditional ruler of Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area Igwe Patrick Mbamalu Okeke was filled to its Capacity with high profile personalities, cultural groups and custodians of Igbo culture, as he celebrated his twentieth Ofala and Igu Aro Festival.

It was a colourful ceremony for Igwe Okeke who has spent twenty years on the throne, as the event attracted lots of dignitaries including traditional rulers of various communities within Anambra State, captains of industry, members of his cabinet and those of neighboring communities
and the Abagana indigenes.

Speaking during the event Igwe Mbamalu Okeke who noted that the annual event was aimed at appreciating God for his protection throughout the year, prayed for peace, unity and progress of Abagana in particular and the nation in general, urging those that received chieftaincy titles to be committed to the overall welfare of the people of the area.

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for all his developmental efforts urging him not to relent.

In a remark, the President-General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo world-wide Chief John-Nnia Nwodo who described Igwe Mbamalu Okeke as a man with heart of Gold, called on those who were conferred with Chieftaincy titles to remain committed and supportive to the throne for the interest of the Abagana people.

Speaking after being conferred with the Chieftain title of Obata-odelu of Abagana, Professor Joseph Adinma assured of his support as he is now an indigene of Abagana by virtue of the title.

Professor Adinma who hails from Neni in Anaocha Local Government was conferred the title following his contributions to the development of the community.

Cultural dances and masquerade displays added glamour to the event.
