Desk Officers from various Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) accredited health facilities who are diligently performing their duties have been appreciated with some cash rewards by the Managing Director of (ASHIA), Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi.

The gathering was not only to recognize and reward exemplary performance but also an avenue for vital discussions.

Mrs. Adaeze Tabugbo, an ASHIA desk officer at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, was honored with a cash prize of fifty thousand naira for her outstanding dedication, as fourteen other diligent desk officers received commendations and cash rewards of ten thousand naira each, aimed at motivating and inspiring others to strive for excellence.

The meeting equally provided an opportunity for the management and staff of the state health insurance scheme to cross-fertilize ideas with ASHIA accredited health care facilities desk officers on how best to improve the services of the scheme.

As part of the initiative, ASHIA conducted a re-training session for desk officers, focusing on addressing common errors encountered during the process of requesting pre-authorization codes.

Emphasizing the importance of adherence to protocols, Dr. Onyemaechi urged the desk officers to familiarize themselves with the scheme’s manual to ensure a comprehensive understanding of operational procedures.

The ASHIA boss underscored the significance of fair pricing, cautioning against overcharging enrollees, and warned of potential penalties for violators, saying that the agency’s commitment to upholding ethical standards as well as ensuring equitable access to healthcare services for all beneficiaries.
