The Anambra state government has approved the second phase of one youth two skills programme, by starting with ten thousand youths and about forty-three different skills.

 

The Anambra state Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo disclosed this at the closing ceremony of orientation course for the 2024 batch A Stream two corps members at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.

Governor Soludo represented by the State Commissioner for Youth development, Mr. Patrick AghaMba told the corps members that displayed exemplary conduct during the period of the orientation course that they have started the journey of life on a positive note and admonished them to keep it up.

 

The governor who noted that his administration has articulated policy towards the youths, which Corps Members deployed to the state are part of, maintained that they have so many youth enterprise development programmes which include Solution Innovation District, through which about five thousand youths were empowered with vocational and entrepreneurship skills as well as two billion naira grant for business start-ups and pointed out that the positive disposition towards the youths by the Soludo administration is predicated on the fact that the future of the state and indeed the nation depend on the youths.

In his speech, the Chairman NYSC State Governing Board and Anambra state Commissioner for Youth Development Mr. Patrick AghaMba, who spoke through the President of ASATU Youth wing, Comrade Ken Okoli congratulated the corps members on the successful completion of the twenty-one-day orientation course which he said has sharpened their minds on the tasks ahead.

On her part, the Anambra State Coordinator of the NYSC Mrs. Blessing Iruma who commended the corps members for their exceptional performances, enjoined them to sustain the spirit of patriotism, integrity, commitment and hard work which they imbibed during the orientation course as they begin the next phase of the national service, urging them to meet the expectations of their host communities by contributing towards the progress and development of the society.
