The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor has encouraged Christians to focus on life after death, which is eternal, as life on earth has no meaning.

Bishop Ezeokafor, who stated this at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Awka while delivering his 2021 Easter message, said Easter celebration is the most important feast for Christians because Christ paid a supreme price in order to bring salvation unto man.

He maintained that what is most important in the celebration is the love of God and salvation he brought to mankind, stating that only those who carry their crosses and work out their ways will make achievements in life and gain eternal life.

On security situation in the State and the nation and large, the Prelate commended the State Government for protecting lives and property of Ndi Anambra and residents of the State, even as he called for prompt actions by government at all levels in evacuating bandits and herders who are tormenting the State through their criminal acts.

The Catholic Bishop, who further called for more implementation of burial rights in the State, expressed concern that much is spent on the dead instead of the living, calling on the legislative bodies, traditional rulers, Presidents-General and opinion leaders to effectively enforce burial rights law.
