The Lillymo Foundation has distributed food items to villages in Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area, targeting indigent persons, mostly widows, disabled and elderly.

 

Packaged in a bag containing tubers of yam, rice, beans, meat, onion and other edibles, the food items were taken to the beneficiaries’ villages and homes for onward distribution.

 

Some of the villages visited during the first leg of distribution were Avomimi, Enu-Avomimi, Adagbe Avomimi, Umuoji, Uru Nnebo, among others.

 

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Coordinator of Lillymo Foundation, Mr. Chukwuebuka Obieki, explained that the foundation founded by Chief Benjamin Emoka, who is based abroad, has existed for about a decade, through which the benefactor remembers home and shares food items to the indigent.

 

He noted that the Easter largesse is unique as it is meant to reach people from the eighteen villages in Enugwu-Ukwu, urging the privileged ones to always help the needy.

 

A total of three hundred persons are to benefit in the first leg of the distribution exercise, according Mr. Chukwuebuka, with many more to benefit from the foundation subsequently.

 

Some beneficiaries, including Mrs. Doris Iyoo, Mrs. Fidelia Ezisi, Mrs. Justina Okoye and Mrs. Grace Ikemba expressed their happiness for the kind gesture, and appreciated their benefactor for the noble gesture.

 

Others including Mr. Sunday Eduzor, Mr. Sunday Dike, Mrs. Blessing Okeke and Mrs. Victoria Okoye also prayed for God’s unending blessings and sustenance on Chief Emoka.
