Christians have been urged to use the Easter celebration to promote forgiveness, reconciliation and harmonious coexistence.

Speaking on the essence of Easter, an Evangelist, Reverend Peter Ezenwaji, explained that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has reconciled man with God.

Reverend Ezenwaji explained that the resurrection of Jesus Christ represents the triumph of light over darkness and the defeat of death which restored hope of salvation and eternity for the believers and is the cornerstones of the Christian faith.

He said the grace of resurrection has set man free from sin and empowers Christians to overcome Satan, and enjoined them to use the same grace to live beyond differences to evolve a better society devoid of hate, bitterness and acrimony.

Reverend Ezenwaji, who is also a lawyer, urged Nigerians to pray for peace and unity of the country, as well as divine intervention to overcome various national challenges, including siege of bandits, terrorists, unknown gunmen, kidnappers and other criminal elements who have held the country hostage over the years, while calling on leaders to serve with fear of God and sense of sacrifice as well as use available resources to improve the life of the masses to reduce the present high cost of living, poverty, hunger and starvation.

Reverend Ezenwaji reminded privileged individuals of biblical injunction of using their resources to touch lives by assisting the needy and the less privileged to improve their lives.

He stressed the need for people to shun junk food, especially at this challenging period, and embrace organic food, especially fruits and vegetables, to promote healthy living and reduce burden of illnesses.

Also speaking, another cleric, Pastor Chigozie Adimora, said Easter celebration is a time of sober reflection to change daily lifestyle for the better.

Pastor Adimora stressed the need for Christians to expand horizons of evangelism to win more souls for Christ.
