The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha has instituted an  award of best students in Mathematics, English and most prayerful students at  St Patrick’s College, Awka for five years.
This was done during the pastoral visit of the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Dioceses, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye and the inauguration of the 2020/2021 academic year, 6th Annual Academic Prize and Sponsors Award, including the Feast Day celebration of St Patrick’s College, Awka.
Speaking at the event the Commissioner, Professor Omenugha commended the students of St. Patrick College for their comportment and excellent academic performance, advising them to keep up the hard work  to become better individuals in the society. Upsot
Earlier  in a homily, the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Dioceses, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye called on Christians to defend their faith at all times.
Most Rev. Okoye explained that the season of lent calls for true repentance and humility as Christ humbled Himself by  dying on the cross for the sins of mankind.
In a vote of thanks, the School Principal Rev.Fr Celestine Anaekwe, thanked all who came to grace the occasion, praying God to lead them safely back to their destination. Upsot
