The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr. Uche Nworah has received a meritorious award from the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students, NFCS, Blessed Iwene Tansi Chaplaincy of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam campus.

Dr. Nworah received the award during a send-forth ceremony and thanksgiving Mass for the 2019/2020 graduating students of the University and former Chaplain, Reverend Father Paul Obiaga.

Correspondent, Emmanuel Chigbata reports that  the premises of Education Tertiary Fund’s Auditorium, of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam campus was filled to the brim with students, families, friends and well-wishers, who converged to celebrate the outgoing students of NFCS and former Chaplain of the Chaplaincy.

The ceremony started with a thanksgiving Mass as the graduands expressed profound gratitude to God for a triumphant graduation despite the academic and national challenges, expressing gratitude to God  that their graduation was delayed but not denied.

Presenting the award, the Chaplain, Blessed Iwene Tansi Chaplaincy, COOU Igbariam campus, Reverend Father Patrick Bosah lauded Dr. Nworah for his positive contributions to  the society urging him to sustain it.

Responding Dr. Nworah, who spoke through ABS On Air Personality, Mr. Daniel Ekwueme, thanked NFCS for  recognising   his  contributions to  the society.

Dr. Nworah, while assuring to double his efforts in service to humanity, described the award as a call for more work.

Earlier during the thanksgiving Mass, a visiting priest, Reverend Father Cyril Udebunu reminded the outgoing students that human life is full of ups and downs, and that they would conquer if they listen to God’s voice and obey His words.

He explained  that suffering, trials and temptations are inalienable in the life of humanity, but through persistent prayers and supplications, these challenges  would be conquered .

The outgone Chaplain, Reverend Father Obiaga revealed that he has served for nine years in the Chaplaincy and thanked them for organising  the send fort get together.

In their separate messages, the outgoing NFCS Coordinator, Mr. Dennis-Smart Edogor and the current NFCS President, Mr. Anthony Osuizugbe, recounted challenges and hardship they surfaced throughout their stay in the University, but thanked God for making it possible for them to conclude the race.

Other awardees include, a former Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Fidelis Okafor and the present Vice Chancellor, Professor Greg Obi, NFCS Executives and students among others.
