It was a moment of grief for family members, relations and those who came to pay their last respect to Late Mr. Godwin Chukwuka Anochili during his burial and funeral ceremonies held at his compound at Zik’s Avenue Awka.

 

The late Mr Anochili, from Umuzocha village Awka and popularly known as ‘Sariki’ for his sojourn in the Northern part of the country, died at the age of sixty-eight.

Speaking during the funeral ceremony, Pastor Innocent Anagor of Rock of Fire Church, reminded Christians about the transient nature of life on earth, adding that nothing should matter to a true Christian if not making heaven, urging all to live consciously to be able to achieve eternity.

 

Speaking after interment, daughter of the deceased, Mrs Queen Nwamamchukwu, said that her father was a man of truth, whom she learnt a lot from, especially his encouragement on acquiring sound education.

Son of the deceased, Mr. Daniel Anochili, described his father as an honest, sincere and hardworking man, whose death for him is a hard reality to deal with.

 

An in-law to the deceased, Mr. Ifesinachi Nwamamchukwu, remarked that the late Mr. Anochili took him like a father, gave him fatherly advice and open arms of acceptance.

Also speaking, Chief John-Henry Nwosu described the deceased as a man of peace, saying that his death is a great loss to many.

 

The late Mr. Godwin Anochili is survived by wife, who is a staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Awka, and two children.

The ceremony featured condolence visits from families, relatives and well-wishers.
