The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has advised the people to always engage in sporting activities for healthy living and longevity.

He gave the advice when he on behalf of Governor Chukwuma Soludo flagged off the All Stars football tournament at Awka Township Stadium.

The Deputy Governor who said that the contribution of sports to human healthiness and longevity cannot be overemphasized, pointed out that people should often exercise themselves to keep fit.

Dr Ibezim while commending the Chairman Anambra state Football Association, Mr Chikelue Iloenyosi on his efforts in organizing the tournament, restated the commitment of the Soludo government towards repositioning the sports sector as it remains one of the strong pillars of the administration.

In a remark the Chairman Anambra State Football Association, Mr Iloenyosi said that the tournament is for fun and to unite the ex-players, disclosing that the game will last for a month.

In separate interviews, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Tony- Collins Nwabunwanne, Member representing Ogbaru Constituency One at the State House of Assembly, Mr Noble Igwe, and National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Barrister Titus Akpudo commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts in the sports sector, adding that sports has the ability to keep the youths off the street, showcase young talents to the world and boost the State’s economy.
