It was a beautiful day when Chidubem Olivia Ezeonyejiaku took her heartthrob, Stanley Jideofor Umendu, both from Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area, to the Altar.

 

The wedding ceremony was officiated by a lecturer at Tansi Major Seminary, Reverend Father Victor Onwukeme, assisted by the Parish Priest of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, BONSAC, Asaba, Reverend Father Romanus Onwusonye.

 

The bride, Olivia is the daughter of Dr. Njide Ezeonyejiaku, a former Head of Station, ABS, Onitsha and now a lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

In a homily, Reverend Father Onwusonye charged the couple to look beyond physical beauty, shun comparison and be careful of social media for their marriage to stand the test of time urging them not to follow the language of the world in their marriage rather, they should think about their persons and act accordingly.

 

Speaking to the ABS, the groom, Mr. Stanley who narrated their love journey which started from their village square, said his wife is very supportive while the wife, Olivia, said their sweet friendship gradually culminated into love and marriage and promised to build a godly home.

It was a mixture of feelings for the parents of the bride, Sir Okey and Dr. Njide Ezeonyejiaku who expressed joy that they are giving out their only daughter in marriage and at the same time, will miss her as she moved to her husband’s house and advised her to be loyal and submissive to her husband.

The elder brother and sister of the groom, Mr Umendu and Mrs Peace Udogu prayed God to unite the couple in love and grant them their heart desires.

 

The twin brother of the bride, Mr. Chisom Ezeonyejiaku, grandmother, Mrs Mary Okponwa, sponsors, Chief Hyginus and Bene Ezeamama, Director of Programmes, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mrs Nneka Ekwunife, joined their voices in wishing the couple well.

The couple also entertained the guests during a colourful traditional marriage at the country home of the bride, Umuchu, which drew personalities from all walks of life including Anambra Broadcasting Service and Nnamdi Azikiwe University families, groom’s family and friends among others.
