Today is Easter Sunday. It is the day Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ from dead, which marks the end of the Holy week.

Easter is one of the most important basic pillars of the Christian faith. Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death, there would be no hope of salvation for Christians.

Today Christians have every reason to celebrate because our Lord Jesus is alive and not in the grave.

Faith, belief and complete acceptance of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ are very essential to Christians for two main reasons.

First, Christians, by faith, will live their entire lives, according to and in agreement with the commandments and teachings from the Old to the New Testament of the Bible. This gives them the spiritual strength to receive the provisions of basic needs, protection from evil, dangers and harm in the societies, healing of the body and mind; miracles and similar interventions. These are blessings from God because Christians are living in obedience to the scriptures each day.

Again the resurrection of Christ gives mankind access to eternal life from God. This is the ultimate reward for believers of Christ.

Therefore, the belief in God until the end of life is essential. The importance of this is in Matthew Chapter twenty-four from verses eleven to thirteen. Death is the end of the process of life as humans know and understand the relationship between life and death. The Bible specifies about eternal life in Heaven for those who believe God and obey His commandments.

So, the significance of the Easter which is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is critical for a believer to attain eternal life because eternal life is granted to those who keep or obey God’s commandments all the days of their lives.

Therefore, Easter has great significance to Christians all around the world.

A Christian is one who believes in God, the Bible, has repented from sins, is baptized with water and received the Holy Spirit from God. Such individual also has a duty to live and obey God’s commandments to receive divine blessings and provisions during his or her life and gain eternal life in Heaven.

While the teachings and practices of each church denomination may differ in some respects, all Christians must obey God’s commandments to be accepted by God and receive the ultimate reward of eternal life in Heaven after the end of life on earth .

Easter is therefore, very important because it proved that Jesus is who he says He is. He is God in the flesh and He came to earth to save mankind. Without the doctrine of the celebration of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection from the dead, there is no Christianity and no Easter. Halleluiah, Christ has risen, He has risen in deed.
