An Anambra philanthropist based in the United Kingdom, Mr Innocent Obiora, has distributed not fewer than six hundred bags of rice to the indigent individuals , including widows and people living with disabilities in Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

The beneficiaries were seen singing songs of joy and praise for their benefactor as the gesture came on time for the Easter celebration.

The benefactor, Mr. Obiora who was represented by Mr. Ndubuisi Obijiofor said that the gesture has become a culture for him as a way to remember the less privileged in his community, especially at this period of Easter which should remind people of the need to share love and kindness with people around them.

According to him, what he has done has no political undertone but to alleviate the sufferings of the poor, especially the widows and other members of the vulnerable community in the society.

Mr Obiora further revealed plans to empower youths and petty traders to support their businesses during this period of economic downturn in Nigeria.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs Joy Okonkwo, Chinenye Okafor, Theresa Ikpeamanu and Grace Onyejelu prayed for God’s continuous blessings on their benefactor and his household and appreciated him for remembering them.
