Over four hundred persons have been empowered Honourable Paschal Agbodike representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives to become self-reliant.

 

The beneficiaries who were drawn from the ten communities that make up Ihiala Federal Constituency received cash, twenty-five liters of vegetable oil and start up packs each to start plantain chips business.

Political Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the economic empowerment programme held in Okija was organised in collaboration with National Productivity Centre.

 

Speaking to journalist after the empowerment programme, Dr Agbodike explained that the project was designed to eradicate poverty in the constituency and to turn youths of the constituency into employers of labour.

The Federal lawmaker described the project as the beginning of many good things to come to the constituency, saying that he has incorporated many lofty projects for Ihiala Federal Constituency in the nation’s 2024 budget worth billions of naira.

 

Dr Agbodike disclosed that already, he has presented twenty-four bills and several motions at the green chamber aimed at transforming the Constituency, Anambra State and Nigeria at large.

 

Dr Agbodike who is currently Nigeria’s representative in the parliament of Economic Community of West African States, commended the quality projects accomplished by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the last two years and assured him that he will always compliment his efforts by attracting Federal projects to Anambra State.

 

Speaking during the programme, a Stalwart of People’s Democratic Party in Anambra State, Chief Kenneth Emeakayi said that Dr Agbodike has demonstrated that he knows the pressing needs of his people by empowering them at the time Nigeria is experiencing economic hardship and urged him not to relent.

Some of the beneficiaries including Williams Okechukwu, Ngozi Obinakaba and Oluchukwu Agbasiere expressed gratitude to Dr Agbodike for liberating them from unemployment and called on others to emulate him
