The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has urged Market women to form cooperative societies in order to benefit from coming projects.

 

This she said during her visit to the office of the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo.

Addressing the women, the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Kennedy-Ohanenye said the Tinubu led administration is out to protect and empower every woman in Nigeria and urged Anambra women to utilize the opportunity of having an Igbo Minister by forming corporative societies in clusters of at least twenty members in order to partake of the coming projects.

 

Mrs Kennedy-Ohanenye said that she will do her best in linking International Communities to Anambra State in order to see that the mandate of President Bola Tinubu is actualized.

On what her plans are to better the lots of women, the Minister noted that she is currently working with some Non-Governmental Organizations NGOs and Agencies to see that women are empowered economically for the smooth running of the home and the society at large.

 

She further stated that her expectation is to see women loving themselves and not being their own problems.

The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare Anambra State, Mrs Ify Obinabo had earlier welcomed the Minister to the State at the Anambra International Airport Umueri and proceeded to Party house where they further visited some Markets before arriving at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka to address the women.

Present at the event were the Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, member representing Anaocha Constituency One in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Nkechi Ogbuefi, APGA State Woman Leader, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, ASATU women, among other notable personalities.
