Anambra State Local Government Service Commission has appointed visually Impaired staff, as Head of Local Government Administration of Ayamelum Local Government Area.

Speaking in Awka, the Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Ifeanyi Ezeaka said the appointment was in line with the Solution Initiative and Governor Chukwumma Soludo’s policy of promoting merit, competence and inclusiveness in administration, which transcends beyond any sectarian and ethnic considerations.

Barrister Ezeaka explained that the appointment exercise went through rigorous examination and Interview selection process, where the physically challenged staff performed creditably well, noting that it was the first of its kind since the creation of Anambra State in 1991 and complements what the Governor is doing to entrench a new order.

Barrister Ezeaka extolled Governor Soludo’s pragmatic leadership style which recognises merit and competence over mediocrity, as well as underscores his in-depth understanding and knowledge of the United Nations Chatter on Human Right and Rights of Persons with Disabilities, for the advancement of Freedom, Equality and Fairness in defence of Human Dignity.

It will be recalled that history was made in Anambra State and Nigeria recently by Governor Soludo when he appointed two non-indigenes of Anambra State as Permanent Secretaries in Anambra State Civil Service which has accelerated the drive to challenge the entrenched tribalism and nepotism that have plagued national development for a long time.
