Governor Willie Obiano has performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Luxury Place Estate.


The project is a public, private partnership between the Anambra State government and Rotech Energy Services Limited.


Performing the function, Governor Obiano expressed satisfaction that his Akuluno call is yielding the desired results.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the ceremony took place at the New GRA, Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area.


With a strong security architecture put in place by Governor Obiano, Ndi Anambra have continued to respond to the ‘Aku Luo Uno’ call by bringing home their wealth and resources to develop the State.
Governor Obiano said that it is highly imperative for Ndi Igbo who mainly live a nomadic business lifestyle, to bring more investments to their respective home States.


While commending the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rotech Energy Services Limited, Chief Austine Oguejiofor, Governor Obiano stressed the need for more Ndi Igbo to embrace the think home philosophy which will favour the South-East as a priority investment destination.
The investor Chief Oguejiofor said that he thought it wise to bring some of his investments home because of Governor Obiano’s genuine interest in developing Anambra.


The Managing Director of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, Mr Jide Ikeakor said that it is on record that a certain percentage of Ndi Anambra don’t own a house of their own and thanked Governor Obiano for providing the support, to Rotech and others who made the project possible.


The Commissioner for Housing and Urban renewal, Mr Mike Okonkwo, who described housing as essential stated that the estate is designed in a way that it is self sufficient with basic amenities.


Others who spoke to the ABS including the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority and the member representing Onitsha North Constituency Two at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Eddy Ibuzo commended Chief Oguejiofor for heeding the call, pointing out that it will help address Anambra’s Housing deficit.


The event was attended by Anambra State House of Assembly members led by the Speaker Right Honourable Uche Okafor, former Governors of the State, Chief Chukwemeka Ezeife, Dame Virgy Etiaba, former Deputy Governor Emeka Sibudu, members of the State Traditional Ruler’s Council led by its Chairman, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Emir of Kafe in Nassarawa State, Security Chiefs including Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone Thirteen, among others.


Recall that in 2019, Anambra state government and Rotech Energy Services signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the project which should be delivered within thirty months.
