The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has repeated call on the electorate to pick their PVCs being distributed in all the Wards across the State.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anambra State, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, represented by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity of INEC Mr. Leo Nkedife made call during a one day Town Hall meeting organized by Academic Frontiers Initiative Anambra State Chapter.

The program attracted stakeholders from various academic institutions in Anambra state and beyond, Political office holders, INEC officials, representatives of different political parties, students from different institutions, security agencies as well as traditional rulers.

It was aimed at sensitizing the populace on the best practices to curbing violence during the election and ensure free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.

The Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr Orji assured that the Commission will conduct an election which will be transparent and acceptable by every Nigerian calling on all the
relevant stakeholders to act in accordance with the electoral laws.

Earlier in an address, the Academic Frontiers Initiative National Coordinator Dr Chinedu Onyeizugbe who described the AFI as advisory and intellectual moulders assured of full partnership in ensuring good governance through sensitization advocating free, fair and credible election.

In a remark, the Chairman on the occasion Professor Ellis Idemobi who is also the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University while commending AFI for their commitment towards a better Nigeria, charged electorate to show patriotism by voting wisely during the forthcoming general election.

Others who spoke at the event including the Dean faculty of Social Sciences Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Chinyere Okunna and Dr Nicholas Okoye who blamed the current situation in Nigeria on bad leadership charged INEC to ensure a free, fair, credible and transparent election come February sixteenth and March second 2019.
