Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has identified with Justice Obande Festus Ogbuinya, at a thanksgiving mass to celebrate his elevation to Nigeria’s Supreme Court.

 

At the mass which took place at the Holy Family Catholic Parish in Umuogudu-Akpu, Ebonyi State, the jurist was celebrated by peers, political figures and community members for his appointment to the highest judicial office in the country.

 

The Mass was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of the Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, who is also a former classmate of Justice Obande.

 

Addressing the congregation, Governor Soludo recalled their shared experiences as proud alumni of Uga Boys Secondary School.

 

The Governor spoke about the values and education that have contributed to Justice Obande’s successful legal career and concluded his speech by expressing optimism that God would grant Justice Obande long life and good health as he takes on his new duties at the apex court.

 

For Justice Obande, the height was attained through God’s favour and a dint of hard work, tasking people on perseverance.

 

The event was attended by Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, his Deputy, Patricia Obila, former Ebonyi State Governor, Dr. Sam Egwu, the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai, Judges, among others.
