The Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Anambra State Command, Mr Daniel Onyishi has called on parents to put in more efforts in the upbringing of their female children and monitor their activities in order to save them from dangers of drug abuse and other social vices.

 

 

 

Mr Onyishi made the call during ABS audience participatory program “NDLEA and You”, while speaking on the topic “Females’ Involvement in Drug Abuse and Drug Trafficking”.

 

 

 

Mr Onyishi who revealed that the rate at which females abuse drugs in today’s society is alarming, added that females’ involvement in drug abuse and trafficking out-ways that of the males’ counterparts judging by the NDLEA findings.

 

 

 

He explained that the state NDLEA is doing its best in the fight against drug abuse and drug trafficking which he said has continued to destroy the society, calling for all hands to be on deck to save the society and the destiny of the young people.

 

 

 

Contributing, the Staff Officer in charge of Drug Demand Reduction and Training of the NDLEA Anambra State Command, Madam Priscilla Onyema advised females to stop indulging in drug abuse, an act she said destroys the brain, kidney and sensitive females’ organs like the womb.

 

 

 

Madam Onyema called on wealthy individuals to come forward and support the State NDLEA, especially in the proposed expansion of the rehabilitation center and sponsoring of the audience participatory program on ABS, even as she disclosed that people can contact them on 08121516366 for support and information.
