Ten Communities in Ihiala Local Government Area have received four hundred and thirty two radio sets in the ongoing distribution of radio sets by the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Basic Education to give more people access to teaching on air programme.

Commissioner for Basic Education Professor Kate Omenugha in company of ASUBEB Chairman Chief Patrick Ugboaja, Directors in the Ministry, made the presentation at the local government headquarters Ihialla.

The benefiting Communities are Uli, Amaoka, Ihiala, Osumoghu, Azia, Mbosi, Lilu, Okija, Ubuluisiuzo, and Isseke.

Addressing the Education Secretaries, Head teachers, and principals and pupils, Commissioner Omenugha charged them to be conscious of the current blended teaching and learning in the State as Governor Willie Obiano is very passionate in making sure that every child in the State is educated no matter where he or she resides.

She urged them to make out extra time to ensure that they help their pupils abreast the new normal in teaching and learning.

In his speech the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba, who hails from the area, said in no distant time State Government will honor all NDI Anambra who won laurels to the State in various competitions both within and outside.

He therefore charged teachers to adjust to current blended teaching and learning, as the reward for a good job in more work.

The Education Secretary of the zone Mrs. Ethel Ileka Nduka who expressed joy for the State Government interest to make Education thrive in the State, assured of engaging the Head teachers to form clusters to carry out the campaign.
She however made passionate appeal for the employment of more teachers to the zone.

The Transition committee Chairman for Ihiala local government area Mr. Jude Obiwuru in his remark pledged to synergize with the Education Secretary to ensure that the radio sets were used as directed.

Later Mrs. Irene Okweluogu, head association of primary head teachers of Nigeria Anambra State branch and a pupil from Uzoakwa community school Master Obinna Chigbata thanked Commissioner Omenugha and her entourage for the visit and handover of the radio sets promising to use them accordingly.
