The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Housing and Urban Development says it will partner the Anambra State Housing Corporation to achieve Governor Willie Obiano’s vision of providing affordable housing estates for the people.
The Committee gave the assurance when it embarked on oversight responsibility at the Corporation in Awka.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Committee after going through the documents of completed Housing Estates and ongoing ones across the state, observed that the corporation maintains a very transparent process in all their activities.
It however, directed the corporation to provide them with necessary documents that will enable them do further work on housing estates that are under construction.
In his remark, the Chairman of the committee, Honourable Lawrence Ezeudu explained that the exercise was designed to guide the corporation so that it will always be in accordance with the law and to ascertain if developers are working according to specifications.
A member of the Committee, Honourable Emma Nwafor commended the corporation for proper documentation of all the estates and layouts in the state and urged them to be steadfast. UP SOT
In his remark, the Managing Director, Anambra state Housing Corporation, Architect Willie Okafor noted that the over sight responsibility of the Anambra state House of Assembly enables them to work effectively for the benefit of the state, assuring that the corporation will carry out the directives of the committee.
