The long awaited Igbo themed Television Series “Anyanwu Ututu” has been premiered in Awka.

The premier is a milestone in the now booming entertainment industry in Awka and by extension, Anambra State.

The first season of the film focusing on the life, traditions and world views of the Omabala people, first premiered in Awka, joining the likes of Chigozie Atuanya’s “Chetanna” which also hit the cinemas for the first time in Awka.

The event attracted the high and the mighty in the box office, including the likes of Pete Edochie, Patience Ozokwor, Harris Chuma, Bruno Iwuoha, Ada Uko, Prince Uchechukwu Ndigwe, Chinwe Owoh and a numerous other Nollywood Stars.

Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, State Commissioner for Police, Garba Umar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr. Uche Nworah, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority boss, Architect Mike Okonkwo and other top government officials were also in Attendance.

For the Producer of the movie and Nollywood actress, Chioma Okoye, the project is to serve as a showcase of Igbo language and culture and take Igbo people back to where they belong in the entertainment industry.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chukwulobelu, on his part, commended the initiative, saying that the security policies of the present administration made the film a dream come true, just as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, ABS, Mr. Nworah, said that Anambra must return to its lead status in the Industry.
