Late Chief Amobi Albert Obikili from Okpu-Ifite, Agulu, Anaocha Council Area, have been described by family members as a man of strong Catholic faith, peaceful and loving during his lifetime.

 

Chief Obikili who died at the age of ninety-one, was given a fun-fare funeral ceremony, as many from far and near came to pay their last respect.

Speaking during his funeral event, the first son of the deceased from the surviving wife, Chief Joseph Obikili revealed that the father served God dedicatedly through being a Catechist in the Catholic Church and inculcated strong values on him and other children, advising all to live peacefully.

 

A daughter, Mrs. Chinonye Eze, remarked that the Father invested his energy and time in the things of God, especially at St. James Church, being a Catechist and Chorister, saying that she learnt being prayerful, determination and being focused from the late father urging all to live uprightly as death is inevitable.

A daughter-In-Law, Mrs. Nkiru Obikili noted that late Chief Obikili left a good legacy behind especially in being peaceful, Godly and loving.

 

A relative, Mr. Josephat Obikili explained that a lot of people bore witness to the good life the deceased lived even Priests he served under as a Catechist, especially in his efforts to ensure that those who were sick were attended to spiritually according to their Catholic faith.

Some friends who came to condole with the family, including Chief Ejike Udeagha and Mr. Henry Okpara thanked God for the longevity granted Chief Albert and the good legacies he left behind, and urged the family to keep waxing strong while also praying for blessings upon them.

 

Late Chief Amobi Albert Obikili’s first wife died after they had two children, which led to his second marriage that was blessed with six children.

The funeral ceremony witnessed high number of sympathizers who condoled with the family, masquerades display and music performances.
