The remains of late Chief Titus Nwosu have been laid to rest at his country home in Ihite, Azia, in Ihiala Council Area.

 

Late Chief Nwosu died at the age of ninety-one.

 

The burial/ funeral ceremony which commenced with holy mass at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Umuohi Okija, attracted the clergy, religious, members of old boys of all Hallows Seminary Onitsha; set eighty-five, among other dignitaries from far and near.

The auditorium of the church was filled to capacity as families, friends, relatives and well-wishers gathered to pay last respect to the deceased.

 

In a homily, the officiating priest, Very Reverend Father Titus Nnabugwu, who recalled the essence of man’s creation, which is to know, serve and be with God in life eternal, called on the faithful to assess their lives and live in accordance with God’s will.

He encouraged the bereaved family to take solace in the Lord and toe their father’s footsteps, even as he described the deceased as a devoted Christian.

 

Son of the deceased, Mr. Bernard Nwosu, described his late father as an embodiment of truth, love, care, compassion and a peace-loving man who because of his love for the down-trodden established Beatrice Nwosu Memorial Foundation to take care of educational needs of the poor, and called on the siblings to maintain the peace and unity the family is known for.

Daughters of the deceased, Reverend Sister Ogochukwu Nwosu and Mrs. Chinenye Chukwuma, described their father as a philanthropist who instilled the right attitude in them.

 

Others who gave testimonies of the good life lived by the deceased were the granddaughter, Mrs. Nneka Ojiaku, his in-laws, Chief Michael Ezeonyejekwe, Mr. George Chukwuma and Mr. Aloysius Okpalaeke.
