The Family of Chief Azubike Ekweozor of Agbaana Quarters, Umuawulu, in Awka South Local Government Area has built and donated a new public convenience to Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church Umuawulu.

The Convenience was commissioned by the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Jonas-Benson Okoye alongside other projects built in the church.

About two hundred faithful received the sacrament of Holy Communion after eight years in that community during the Pastoral visit.

Religion  Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye was there and reports that in a homily while celebrating the mass, Most Reverend Okoye said that it was important to sow the seed of faith in the life of children so that they can grow and defend it always .

Bishop Okoye challenged the faithful to uphold   the sacrament which they received to guide them properly.

He commended Chief Ekweozor for his kind gesture to the community,  especially the  donations to the church describing the convenience as one of the best in the Diocese and commended him for employing those that will take care of the place.

The benefactor Chief Ekweozor thanked God for his numerous blessings upon his family and explained that  he built and donated the edifice to the church to ease the parishioners the stress of going to the forest to ease themselves.

He noted that God has blessed him, promising to continue to invest even as he disclosed that he  has donated a piece of land for the expansion of  the church at Agbaana Umuawulu for the extension of gospel.

On his part, another philanthropist in the community, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi who sank a borehole with overhead tanks and erected three class room blocks said the community will witness total development and progress, calling on other indigenes to embark on  community services at least to pay back to the place they were groomed.

Also Speaking ,a relation of the donor, Chief Ugomartins Ekweozor appreciated God for the gift of life unto them, stating it has been in his brothers nature to donate to the church and was of the believe it is the secret of his success.

Chief Azubike Ekweozor later received a meritorious award from the church presented to him by the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye.

Present at the ceremony were the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, other sons and daughters of the community while thanksgiving and commissioning formed the highlights of the mass.
