The Anambra Commissioner for Basic Education Professor Kate Omenugha has extolled teachers and Abambra Broadcasting Service ABS for promoting and sustaining Anambra Teaching On Air programme
In a statement to mark one year anniversary of the programme, Professor Omenugha said the State Government celebrate celebrate the creative and resourceful teachers as well as the ingenuity of the Anambra Broadcasting Service team that continue to give education in Anambra state global visibility.
She recalled that Anambra Teaching on air was born out of the desire of Governor Willie Obiano to continue to give umu Akwukwo Anambra quality and globally competitive education.
According to the Commissioner, it was an emergency intervention in education at the time of total lockdown and shut down of schools and resolve of the Ministry of Basic Education not to compromise education because of circumstances and thanked all who rose to the occasion as well as extolled teachers who remained focused and resourceful to meet the challenges.
She noted that today Anambra Teaching On Air has continued, producing teacherprenuers that have continued to get international and National accolades. while the students are learning new ways of acquiring knowledge and creating knowledge which said justified the efforts and sacrifice.
