New employees of Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi have been charged to insist on quality service delivery to justify their employment.

The charge was given by the Provost of the College, Dr. Robinson Mgbakogu during the orientation of new employees of the Institution at the College Auditorium which drew resource persons from all walks of life.

Dr Mgbakogu stressed that the orientation is in line with Governor Willie Obiano’s policy on Civil Service recruitment and thanked him for approving the employment of seventy-four critical staff in various departments that are short of staff.

The Provost disclosed that the orientation was  geared towards educating the new employees on the expectations of government from them adding that they brought seasoned resource persons to prepare them for the task ahead.

The Registrar of the college, Mr. Okechukwu Nwobi who advised the new employees to put into practice what they learnt from the orientation commended Governor Obiano for his numerous work in the college including approving funds and the employment of personnel,  basically for the accreditation of HND Programmes which will enable students of the college go for National Youth Service for the first time since the establishment of the school, charging the new employees to justify their pay.

In a lecture on Basic Ethics in the Public Service, a resource person, Mr. Adebayo Ojeyinka, Director, Public Service Office of the Head of Service, said effective service Delivery is key to national development.

Other resource persons,  including Mr. Sylvanus Ezeanolue from the office of Accountant General educated the new employees on Basic Financial Regulations in Civil Service for Effective and Efficient Service Delivery while a retired administrator, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Ikedi Ugokwe educated them on Oaths of Office and Need to Safeguard Government Property, Secrecy of Documents among others.

Some of the new employees who spoke to the ABS, including  Chigozie Adobe and Valentine Agubuokwu commended the Provost of the college for organizing the orientation and Governor Obiano for giving approval for their employment promising to work hard.
