The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi said the agency has paid over one billion naira in capitation and fee for servicer for the past two years.

 

Dr. Onyemaechi who disclosed this while speaking to our health Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye in Awka, said the agency will continue to pay all their implementing medical providers as at when due to ensure that the scheme continues to yield the desired result.

 

He further revealed that in supporting hospitals in the state, the agency has lit five General hospitals with solar energy light, namely: Okija General hospital, Enugwu-Ukwu General hospital, Umueri General hospital, Ekwulobia General hospital, as well as Onitsha General hospital.

 

Dr. Onyemaechi who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Health, urged affluent Ndi Anambra to embrace the adoption model initiated by the agency to help the less-privileged people around them get adequate health with ease.

 

The Special Adviser who doubles as the Chairman, Board of Directors of Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi commended Governor Willie Obiano for his efforts in ensuring that health indices of the state keeps improving.

 

Dr. Onyemaechi noted that with one thousand naira monthly and twelve thousand yearly payment, one can enjoy all the health benefits accrued to ASHIA beneficiaries.
