The Chairman of Anambra State Security Trust Fund, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, says Security is a collective responsibility of both the government and the governed.

He stated this during a thank you visit to the Anambra State Vigilant Group, AVG.

The Chairman alongside members of the Trust Fund visited the Lion Building, headquarters of AVG at the GRA, Awka.

Speaking during the event, Chief Anyaegbu thanked Governor Willie Obiano for his creative mindset in fortifying the State Security Trust Fund.

He also thanked members of the AVG for their role in securing Anambra communities assuring them of assistance to improve on their service to the State.

The Chairman Anambra State Vigilant Group, CP Ikechukwu Aduba, retired, while thanking him for the visit, tabled before him the various areas of needs of the security outfit to include a permanent site, operational vehicles, funds, standard uniforms and insurance scheme for members of the AVG, among others.

Describing Security in Nigeria as dicey, Mr Aduba explained that the vigilant group complements the police and encouraged every onye Anambra to help in improving security in his community.

In a good will message, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, commended Governor Willie Obiano for the Calibre of people he appointed into the Anambra State Security Trust Fund, and called for more prayers for him.

In his remarks, a member of the Trust Fund, Chief Chikodi Anara, expressed satisfaction that Anambra State is now the safest State in Nigeria courtesy of Governor Obiano who placed Security as his number one priority and encouraged the AVG members not to relent in their service to the State.
