Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism will organise a virtual International Conference with Anambra indigenes in the diaspora.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Dr Kenneth Anierobi who disclosed this in Awka, said that the interactive session would involve Ndi Anambra living outside the country and those living outside the state.

He said government has to set up a communication channel with Ndi Anambra in the diaspora to establish a strong relationship with them in line with the mission statement of the state.

Dr Anierobi explained that the Diaspora portal will be put to use this year to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the state, tourist sites, programmes and other important positive information to help to attract Ndi Anambra in the diaspora to invest in the state, while efforts would be sustained to ensure that the plans to set up the Diaspora Estate are achieved this year.

The commissioner urged the staff of the Ministry to work as a team, share vital information among them and bring up ideas that would boost the ministry.

Acting Director of Diaspora Affairs, Mrs Nneka Nwankwo, thanked the Commissioner for the opportunity to interact with him.

She pointed out that her department markets the rich cultural activities and tourist sites of the state to the world.
