The Anambra State Epidemiologist, Dr. Chijioke Obagha, says there is no cause for alarm over the report of one case of Lassa fever in the State.


Dr. Obagha made this assertion during the ABS audience participatory program, “Issues”.


According to Dr. Obagha, Anambra State has recorded a case of Lassa fever, but the patient has been successfully isolated, and the Ministry has equally decontaminated all the areas the patient touched, as well as following all the people who have contact with the patient.


Dr. Obagha further said that the ministry has Emergency Operation Centre and Rapid Response teams that will attend to any eventuality anywhere in Anambra State.


The State Epidemiologist, urged health workers to always use their universal health- precautions at all times in order not to get infected.


Speaking on the Coronavirus prevalent in the society, Dr. Obagha said that the virus is a new disesese and Nigeria is yet to record any case so far.


Callers on the programme, including Messers David More from Nanka, Uche Ezennia from Uga, Ebuka Ude from Enugu State and Tony Okechukwu from Umunya urged government at all levels to be responsive to their duties, as well as restrict Nigerians from going to China for now.
