A team of Medical experts from India, under the auspices of Rotary International, District 3170 has donated medical equipment worth
millions of Naira to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching
Hospital, Amaku, Awka.

The donation is part of the team’s current medical mission in the state where an average of three hundred patients are also receiving free, treatment and surgical services.

Among the equipment donated to the hospital were scanning machine, suction machines, light cure machine and ultrasonic scalar among others.

Receiving the equipment, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Josephat Akabuike, thanked the group for their benevolence calling on others to emulate them.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Basil Nwankwo, said the equipment will enhance quality and effective medical services, and pledged that they will be put to good use.

The head of the group and Leader, Rotary Vocational Training Team, Dr Jorson Fernandes, noted that the Rotary International has six global intervention areas of which health is most paramount.
