A renowned physiotherapist, Mr Charles Ehirim has advocated yearly physiotherapy care for stroke survivors for them to regain their bodily functions.

Speaking at a seminar as a resource person for the upcoming World stroke day for retirees of Shell Petroleum Development Corporation (WEST) Warri, in Delta state, Mr Ehirim emphasized on regular physiotherapy care for those who might have be down with stroke.

The resource person who is a Millennium Development Goals Ambassador and Chief Executive, Omega Physiotherapy and Back Pain Care, Clinics enumerated the features of a person afflicted by stroke and urged the participants to always request from their primary health provider, referral to reputable physiotherapy facility, so as not to be severely disabled.

Responding on behalf of others, the Chairman of the retirees of Shell Petroleum Development Corporation, Elder Umuhoro, expressed his appreciation for the timely lecture and pledge their compliance to the advise.

Meanwhile, in commemoration of the World Stroke Day coming up on Monday 29th October 2018, the consultant physiotherapist, Mr Ehirim, will carry out a one day free intervention physiotherapy care for stroke-disabled patients at Omega Physiotherapy and Back Pain Care Clinic at 34 Okolo Street, American quarters, Onitsha.

This is to support the objectives of the World Stroke proclamation aimed at raising the awareness on prevention, treatment of the condition and ensure care and support for stroke survivors.

Mr Ehirim, who said that the exercise will commence by nine o’clock in the morning and end by five o’clock in the evening, urged those affected by stroke to avail themselves of the free physiotherapy services.
