After two days public holidays to mark the Christmas celebration, most of the offices visited in Awka the state capital were open for duties yesterday and today,

while various degrees of work were on going as at the time of this report.
When ABS crew arrived the premises of the Anambra state secretariat, workers were around the premises, while some were in their various offices doing their work.
At the office of the head of service, staff were seen discharging their duties.
Speaking to the ABS, the head of service Barrister Harry Udu, reminded civil servants that work has started.
He challenged workers in the state to resume their duties and to be more committed so as to justify the state governments benevolence to them.
He reminded those who are still celebrating in their homes, of their responsibilities in their various offices.
Also at the ministry of justice, few workers were seen performing their duties.
The acting director accounts of the ministry, Mr Anthony Egbunike, said his workers have resumed duty without delay except those on annual leave.
He promised on behalf of his department to work towards assisting the state governor in developing the state.
Also at Professor Kenneth Dike library, few workers were seen on duty, while few students were seen researching and reading their books.
Some of the banks visited in Awka metropolis were open to customers for business.
