Over two thousand children drawn from across the various denominations in Agulu-uzigbo, have been treated to a grand Christmas party by the wife of the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Mrs. Chukwunonyelum Umeh.

The event which equally attracted some parents featured, among others, presentation of gifts to the children.
Speaking during the event, Chief Mrs. Umeh, said the event, an annual observance, is one of the means through which the family touches lives and celebrates the leaders of tomorrow, giving them the opportunity to know each other as members of Agulu community.
Chief Mrs Umeh, who regretted that Igbo language is going into extinction, used the opportunity to call on parents of Igbo extraction, to teach their children to speak the language as a measure to protect Igbo language and culture.          
Also addressing the children, the husband of the organizer who is the former National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, assured his support to the wife’s initiative, describing Christmas as a period to show love and give a helping hand to the less privileged.             
For her part, the State Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Honourable Stella Onuorah, who commended the kind gesture of Chief Mrs Umeh, said that such is what Christ, whom, she described as lover of children, wants from Christians.
In their separate speeches, some of the children who include, Master Omenolu Sopulu, and Miss Precious Chinedu, expressed happiness for the event, praying for God’s blessings on Umeh’s family.
Highlights were cutting of Christmas cake, presentation of gifts to the children, as well as dance by Chief Mrs. Umeh with the children.
