IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation has announced the 2024 scholarship applications for students aimed at supporting indigent but talented students across Nigeria.

 

The foundation which announced this in Awka during a press conference called on students to visit www.igahaf.org from June third to twenty-eight, 2024, to fill an online application form for students.

The scholarship is available to students in Junior and Senior Secondary Schools as well as tertiary institutions.

 

IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation funded by a philanthropist, Ignatius Aguowo, is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the education and well-being of the less privileged.

The benefactor focuses on giving back to the community through his foundation as a way to make significant contributions to the betterment of society by empowering numerous individuals, particularly indigent and talented students with scholarships and educational support.

 

Addressing the press, the Executive Secretary of the foundation, Ms Peace Chukwu revealed that the scholarship opportunity is open to students across all the thirty-six states of Nigeria and Abuja who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence but are in need of financial assistance and called on students in public schools to apply and also encouraged those in mission and private schools with low school fees to also submit their applications.

According to her, interested applicants should follow the outlined guidelines on the application website, www.igahaf.org after which the Foundation will carefully review all applications and shortlist candidates who met the criteria for participation for the scholarship examination.

 

Ms Chukwu said that the selection examination for those in secondary schools will be on English Language, Mathematics, and Igbo Language while Tertiary students will be tested on the use of English, Igbo language and critical thinking skills.

Shortlisted candidates, according to her, would be invited to take the examination in Awka, Anambra State, and that the venue would be communicated to them.

 

She said that successful candidates who passed the examination would be awarded a full-funded scholarships starting from their current academic level through their tertiary education, noting that the Foundation currently supports over three hundred and fifty beneficiaries and aims to add two hundred more beneficiaries this year, bringing the total to five hundred and fifty by the end of 2024.
