The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka has appealed to the residents of the state to always safeguard government facilities and projects in their localities.

 

Engineer Chukwuemeka who made this appeal while speaking to the ABS in Awka, said that the government has used enormous resources to put all the facilities and projects in place and as such, it will be counterproductive for it to be vandalized.

 

The Commissioner extolled Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his innovative leadership style which has brought about the revamping of social amenities and provision of new ones.

 

Engineer Chukwuemeka said that the Soludo administration has revamped the State Water scheme thereby giving potable water to the residents of Awka and environs, Nnewi, Otuocha, Awkuzu among numerous areas that the water would be reticulated to soonest.

 

According to the Power and Water Resources Commissioner, the current administration in the state has provided thousands of solar powered street lights in the state, which was a departure from the diesel-powered lights which were gulping millions of naira from the state treasury before the assumption of office of Governor Soludo.

 

He assured that solar powered lights and potable water will in no distant time reach the nooks and crannies of Anambra, appealing to Ndi Anambra to keep supporting the current administration in the state for it to continue its good works.

 

Engineer Chukwuemeka equally admonished traditional rulers, presidents general, religious leaders and all relevant stakeholders in the state to ensure that every government facility or project sited in their domain is always protected for the overall good of every resident of the state.
