Fathers have been urged to always be role models to their various families at all times.

 

The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke gave this charge while speaking to the ABS in Awka in commemoration of this year’s feast of St. Joseph the Worker otherwise known as father’s Sunday yesterday.

 

Advising fathers on the need to live lives that are worthy of emulation, the lawmaker underscored the importance of fathers in every home and warned that fathers should not engage in acts that can cast doubts on them.

 

Hon. Nweke who said that every Christian father should emulate the life of St. Joseph the Worker who was humble, Godly and responsible to his family during his sojourn on earth.

 

According to Hon. Nweke, fathers must know that as heads of their families, they must ensure the protection of their homes both physically and spiritually and reiterated the importance of prayer in building a responsible family.

 

He challenged fathers on the need to establish decent homes, regretting that the myriads of problems in the society today are as the result of broken families.

 

The Anambra Lawmaker who commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for what his administration is doing to better the lots of the Anambra families through Job creation, social security, youth empowerment among others, assured that the State House of Assembly will continue to work with his government to entrench a secure, liveable and prosperous homeland.
