It was a celebration of life well lived in service to God and humanity, dedication to family and hard work, as the remains of the late Mrs. Mary Eke were laid to rest at Umuanum village, Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, after eighty-four years on earth

The late Mrs. Eke was the mother of Chief Superintendent of Police, Ben Eke, who was the Aid Decamp to the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano.

The burial ceremony attracted top government functionaries of both the past and present administrations, including Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Somtochukwu Udeze, past and serving Commissioners, amongst others.

In his remark after internment, CSP Eke described his late mother as a virtuous woman who, despite losing her husband early in their marriage, was resilient in raising her eight children in the fear of God and in pursuing positive dreams, praying to God to grant her soul eternal repose.

The only daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Obianuju Nwafor, explained that her mother was a humble woman who related with all peacefully, and whom taught her virtues , urging all to live a righteous life because life on earth is transient.

Another son of the deceased, Mr. Chukwuneye Eke, said her mother was a woman of God, and that her words of advice were a source of encouragement to him.

The former Head of Service in Anambra State, Chief Harry Uduh, and the former Head, Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, Sir Jude Emecheta, noted that CSP Eke is a good man with right upbringing by his mother, and urged him and the entire family to take solace in the life their mother lived, while keeping her good legacies alive.

Condolence visits from families, friends and sympathizers who came from far and near featured during the ceremony.
