Anambra State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Chika Ifemeje has called for increased collaboration with the State police command to tackle crimes and maintain an effective justice delivery system.

Professor Ifemeje stated this during a formalization visit to the Anambra State Commissioner of Police Mr Echeng Echeng at the Command’s headquarters in Awka.

Correspondent Chibuzo Obidike was there and reports that according to Professor Ifemeje, the police are one of the key players in the administration of justice, thus the visit to extend hands of fellowship, brainstorm as well as share plans on ways of eliminating crimes in the State.

She listed virtual hearing and filtering of cases, which the police have been of immense support, aimed at the speedy dispensation of justice, which is one of the core mandates of Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

She assured Ndi Anambra that her Ministry will always work in tandem              with the Anambra State House of Assembly in ensuring that necessary bills are passed for the safety of all and a better society.

Receiving the team, Mr Echeng who re-emphasized that the security of life and property remains the priority of the Force, expressed satisfaction with  the team spirit extended by the Ministry of Justice and assured that the Command will always do the needful for the safety of all Anambra people.

Mr Echeng, while assuring Ndi Anambra of all-round security, said that irrespective of security issues in some parts of the State, Ndi Anambra deserve a more conducive atmosphere in which the security architecture of the state is working round the clock to stabilize at all cost and asked the people to remain law-abiding and go about their businesses without fear.
