A beneficiary of the Anambra State Health  Insurance Scheme, ASHIA, Mrs Elizabeth Ifemenam has delivered a triplet at no cost, courtesy of the Agency.

 

Mrs Ifemenam delivered at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka.

 

Health Correspondent, Chibuzor Okoye reports that while  writing off the hospital bills of the beneficiary, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi said that Governor Willie Obiano established the Agency to ensure that Ndi Anambra and other residents of the State have access to quality healthcare that is highly affordable and described the scheme as the best form of democracy dividends the Obiano administration has given to Ndi Anambra.

Dr. Onyemaechi who said that the agency has already enrolled over one hundred and fifteen thousand people into the scheme, revealed that over fifty thousand of the beneficiaries are from the informal sector and appealed to good spirited Ndi Anambra to enroll their people, especially the less privileged ones into the scheme through the adoption model initiated by the agency.

 

According to the Chief Medical Director, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, Dr. Josephat Akabuike, health financing is the greatest challenge militating against healthcare delivery and described the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, as the special blessing the current administration has brought to Anambra state.

 

Mrs Ifemenam, a civil servant with the Njikoka Local Government Area who  said she was elated, thanked Governor Willie Obiano and the Executive Secretary of ASHIA for doing a great job in the State and called on Ndi Anambra and residents of the State to embrace the scheme for their own good.

With one thousand naira a month and twelve thousand naira yearly, one can be enrolled and enjoy all the benefits of ASHIA, whose head office is located opposite Anambra State Government House, Awka.
