Oko Community in Orumba North Local Government Area has commended the Obiano administration for using the Community Choose Your Project Initiative to bring rapid development across the hinterland.
The community gave the commendation during a press conference organized by the traditional institution in collaboration with critical stakeholders in the area.
Correspondent, Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that in an address, unanimously signed by the traditional ruler, his cabinet, other stakeholders and read by Mr. Obumneme Okafor Oko Community is committed to ensuring that peace prevails in the community to enable them to continue to benefit from the twenty million naira community choose your project initiative of the Obiano administration.
The address however alleged that the election that was conducted into the community’s town union fell below expectations and called on the government to come to their rescue.
Later in an interview, the cabinet secretary, Ichie Gabriel Anunike and a stakeholder, Mr. Hyacinth Okafor, expressed displeasure over the present affairs of Oko Peoples’ Union, calling on the state government to urgently wade in to avoid the situation degenerating further.
The press briefing was well attended by representatives from all the villages that make-up Oko Community, including the youths.
