Ministry of Public Utilitie has  handed over the Otuocha and Obizi Regional Water Schemes to a private firm to manage.

 

The hand over which was done by the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne aimed at sustaining water delivery to Ndi Anambra.

Speaking while handing the contract document agreement to the manager of the company, Engineer Ezenwanne said the hand over was approved by the governor Willie Obiano to provide portable pipe born water to all the affected communities on a sustainable bases.

 

Engineer Ezenwanne described Otuocha water scheme as a brand new one which reticulates water to four towns which include, Aguleri, Umueri, and Umuoba Anam with multiple fetching points, stating that it is the first time the benefiting communities are being connected to portable pipe born water.

The Commissioner said  that with the process, the governor has solved the major problems towards sustainable delivery of water, noting that the manager will be on check to ensure that the water serves the people and are in good condition.

 

The Managing Director of the contracting firm, Mr. Stanley Odenigbo applauded Governor Willie Obiano for seeing to the need of Ndi Anambra in providing portable pipe borne water, pledging their loyalty and commitment to ensure the efforts in giving water to Ndi Anambra is achieved.
