Officials of the Anambra State Ministry of Health has conducted free COVID-19 test for the management and staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service.

The exercise which took place at the ABS Corporate Headquarters in Awka saw members of the establishment undergo the test.

Health Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye reports that  Governor Willie Obiano had since the outbreak of the virus mandated the Anambra State Covid-19 Response Team to ensure that they take the campaign against the virus as well as testing to both public and private places like Churches, Offices, Parks, Village Squares, Schools among others to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against the deadly virus.

It is against this backdrop that the State Covid-19 Response Team arrived the premises of the Anambra Broadcasting Service Awka to conduct the test free of cost of any sort.

Speaking to newsmen immediately after undergoing the test, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the establishment, Dr Uche Nworah who commended Governor Obiano and the State Ministry of Health for the initiative, said that the idea is to keep the virus away from Anambra State and expressed satisfaction at the level of professionalism displayed by the team who are currently conducting the test in the establishment.

The Director, News and Current Affairs of ABS, Mr. Gab Okpaleze who praised governor Willie Obiano for the rare opportunity given them, noted that the test is good as it enables one to know his status, which he said that even if positive, the State Ministry of Health will also give the person treatment packs in order to get rid of the virus.

A guest Chief Clem Nwafor who used the opportunity to undergo the free test, showered encomiums on the Willie Obiano led administration for being proactive and responsive in the fight against the virus.

In their various remarks, the Director of Commercial Services of the ABS, Mrs. Beatrice Akwanamnye and her Legal Services counterpart, Mrs. Juliet Amasiatu described the exercise as a welcome development.
