Visiting the hospital three times a day just to sustain life could be quite frustrating. However, to discover that one’s two kidneys have failed is a bigger disaster, more especially when it requires fourteen million naira to get such a person well and kicking.
Such was the ordeal of a forty-six year old man, Mr Osita Okoye from Obeagu Orji village Enugwu-Ukwu, who has been bed ridden since 2019.
Mr Okoye was initially diagnosed of Diabetes and has been receiving treatment until last August when it was eventually discovered that his both kidneys have failed.
Since then, he has been going for dialysis twice a week, but it is now worrisome because he will be going for dialysis three times a week at sixty thousand and above each visit.
He therefore appealed to the state government, good spirited individuals and affluent individuals , to help him raise fifteen million naira for transplant of both kidneys.
