The member representing Njikoka Two Constituency at the Anambra State
House of Assembly, Dr Pete Ibida has hosted Anambra Broadcasting
Service On – Air Personalities to a special hangout to appreciate them
for their services to ndi Anambra since the creation of the State
twenty-nine years ago.

The event which took place at the De-Destination Restaurant and Bar,
Agu-Awka attracted both the young and old of the station who relaxed in an
atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

The hangout is hinged on the roles the Anambra Broadcasting Service
has played in championing the developmental strides of past and
present administrations in educating, informing and entertaining
Ndi Anambra through their content.

Honourable Ibida in his remarks said he is excited to wine and dine with the ABS creative minds, brainstorming in an atmosphere full of fun and
tranquility .

The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha who was
also visibly overwhelmed with the liveliness of the atmosphere
expressed satisfaction with the quality of state human capital and suggested
that Ndi Anambra should make out time in appreciating and encouraging
the staff of the establishment who work during week days and holidays
to inform the people with the happenings around them and the world.

In an interview, veteran broadcasters, Comrade Roy Ekwunife and Uju
Egolum revealed that since their practice in the profession, this is
the most overwhelming hangout organized by a Lawmaker and a fan of the
establishment which they noted clearly showed recognition and appreciation of efforts of staff of the establishment while Mr. David
Okpokwasili was of the opinion that the relaxation proves the fact
that journalism is entertainment and information driven and expressed appreciation to senior colleagues for their tutelage over
the years.

In a vote of thanks, the facilitator of the event, Chinelo Okafor thanked the host for the surprise treat as it
points to the cordiality that exists between the establishment and Ndi
Anambra and a way to ensure the staff of the station maintain sound mind and body
always.

The host, Dr Ibida later opened the floor with unique dancing steps
joined by the Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Omenugha to
celebrate the State at twenty-nine and commendable role played
by the ABS .
